Claire Update and Easter Eggs!

Claire Bear is 10-Months-Old!

That may be my new favorite picture of my baby. She just looks so sweet and happy and pinchable.

No doctor's visit was schedule for this milestone, but that didn't stop me from checking her measurements. She weighed in at 21 pounds and 29.5 inches - up from 18 pounds 14 ounces and 27.5 inches last month. Take my measurements with a grain of salt, though, because something tells me our scales and tape measures are off. Either way, she's a big girl. So big, in fact, that she is just 8 pounds away from catching up with her oldest sister.

Speaking of the big girls, we took them to a super-fun Easter egg hunt today at the local community center.

First, I wanted to get their picture with the Easter bunny.

So, here's my picture of my daughters (minus one) with the Easter Chick and the Easter bunny lady. Fun.

Big girls participated in the egg hunt.
This was right before the 3-4 year old hunt began.

The organizers were very specific with their instructions: no parents can help "hunt" eggs! They made sure and told us 47 times. All the parents in our age group complied.

The airhorn sounded, the girls ran out, then Lyla just stood there, stubbornly, refusing to pick up any eggs. Natalee, picked up her first egg and spent what felt like 20 minutes trying to open it to retrieve her prize. Meanwhile, Darren is screaming at the two of them to hurry up and grab a bunch of eggs. It's a competition, you know. In the end, Natalee had figured out the goal of the egg hunt and ended up with about 20 eggs. Lyla, however, continued her stubborness and only "found" 7 eggs. Now she's mad.

Finally, we ran into our pals and the girls decided to run, hand-in-hand to the bouncy castle.
How cute is that?

Then, we ended our morning at a diner across the street for lunch.

These super-cute 3-year-olds were kind enough to hold the door for the diner patrons.

Happy early Easter!

Random Fun!

There is no really purpose of this particular post except to share some fun photos and maybe a couple of videos. Aren't my girls cute up there sittin' on the couch colorin'? Nevermind Natalee's shaggy hair.

Now, onto something not-so cute. Have you ever heard of head cheese?

My dad made the hubs try some a few weeks ago. Why? you ask...just for fun. My grandpa owns a meat market in Muskogee and sells lots of interesting things.  Head cheese is one of 'em. Pickled pigs feet is another - but my dad did not bring those home on this particular day.

It looks normal in this picture but I assure you, it's not pretty.

Anyone know what head cheese is? Brains, that's what. It has absolutely nothing to do with cheese nor does it taste like it.

Darren tried it and was barely able to keep it down:

My darling three-year-old, Natalee, couldn't get enough of it though. She ate about 3 or 4 pieces of it. That kid will eat absolutely anything and then ask for seconds.

In other, non-brain-related news....we took the kiddos to the park last week. Look at my little cutie:

She sure does love to swing!

Big girls enjoyed the park as well.

In closing, just a couple of shots of my sweet baby while I was getting ready the other morning. I can't seem to get enough of her!

Happy Saturday!
