Family Christmas Pics!

My mom asked me the other day why I hadn't done a blog post in months. Good question, momma, why haven't I? I have no good excuse really - just have been distracted with life. Too distracted to document the life at least.

So now it resumes...

The week before Thanksgiving, we had some photos taken by my amazingly talented co-worker. She does photography on the side and is slowly working to make her photography business her full-time gig. I am so proud of her and her amazing talent. Check out her website or FB page for more information!

Sometimes, when you have five people you're trying to photograph at the same time, they don't all cooperate.

Vacation Time!

So our sweet, not-so-little family of 5 drove south for a few days last week and had a blast! Let me tell ya all about it!

First, I'll start off with the low-point of the trip...LegoLand. If you pay attention to nothing else, pay attention to this: don't take your kids to LegoLand. It's lame and a total waste of money. The only cool part was a little "ride" at the beginning where we shot lasers at some little targets. Not sure what it had to do with Legos but it was entertaining nonetheless.

Either way, my girls looked super cute despite their (parents') disappointment.

This was in a room made for princesses. It had tables with germ-covered Legos and a karaoke machine. The karaoke machine was a total curveball...never expected that at LegoLand.

Claire-bear started feeling a little under the weather the day we left for vacation. She was a trouper though...looking awfully cute.

As you can see, Natalee is not impressed with LegoLand.



Ok, enough with the negative...on with the positive!

Next up, we ate at one of my absolute most favorite place to eat, ever...Pappasito's! I know, it's not all that fancy but it is so delicious. I'm still dreaming about the guacamole.

Because eating at exciting and different restaurants is part of the fun of going out of town, we spent some time trying to scope out places we cannot find in Oklahoma. That is where Peace Out Burger came in. I found it on UrbanSpoon with tons of great reviews so that's where we went the following day for lunch.

It did not disappoint, although it was more of a bar and less of a burger place. It was perfectly legal for us to bring our babies in there (and there were other young kiddos in there) but we sure did receive some stares. It has to be because of how precious our three babies are, right?

As I am adding these pics of us eating out, I'm realizing it's more about the faces and less about the food. Oh well! Here is me and my baby at Fogo de Chao. Yummy delicious meats and the world's best Sangria. Seriously - I've had my fair share of Sangria and this was by far the BEST.

Now, for the highlight of our trip...we were at Great Wolf Lodge! It was so much fun - a definite destination for parents of kiddos, especially younger than 12. My babies thoroughly enjoyed it!

Did I mention that my baby was under the weather? Poor baby.

Poor baby turned into a happy baby by early evening as we were headed to a Texas Rangers game!

By our last day of vacation, Claire was feeling much better.

She had so much fun, she needed a nap.



As you can see, we had an extremely fun-filled vacation. We will totally be going back next year. Hopefully, by that time, Lyla will be as tall as Natalee and able to slide down the "big kid" slides.

Summer Fun

We've had such a busy summer. I am not even close to complaining. Summer time is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love the hot weather. I love going to the lake. I love getting a tan. It's the bestest fun ever.

My last post was a whole lot of randomness, well this one is too...enjoy!

Two of my favorite girls, relaxing in their backyard oasis (pardon my foot!) Natalee was banned from the pool for misbehaving. She was not happy with her momma...but she got over it.



As you can see, she got over her anger long enough to climb in a chair to pick me some flowers from the tree. Such a sweetie. She still wasn't allowed in the pool, though.

Claire bear, riding a little red rocking horse that my great grandpa Walker made me when I was a little girl. It makes me smile to see my baby on my little red horsie. 

In closing, here are my babies at the lake. My cousins had this wonderful floating trampoline contraption that was a hit amongst the youngters. Aren't they cutie patooties?

What We've Been Up To...

Well...it's been a while. Summa time is the most busy time of the year so it's tough for me to stop what I'm doing to document stuff on this little blog. I am long overdue for an update.

How about some photos of my precious babies?!



 We have been to the lake, a lot. On this occasion the girls were enjoying frolicking in the water with their great uncle Mark. They think he's hilarious.

 We spent time with family. Here's me and one of my pretty girls during a visit with their great grandma.



Natalee and great papa read a story.



  Lyla decided it was her job to transport Claire around the house, since she's decided she is never going to walk on her own despite previous reports.


 Claire did a bit of gardening.



  The big girls took swim lessons. This was during the hottest week in June...so glad we didn't wait until the hottest week in July.




Claire enjoyed her second Fourth of July...and started to look more and more like Natalee.

We have done so much more than what is documented here but those events are worthy of their own separate post. Who knows if I will ever get to those separate posts. I will be blogging about my baby girl's May birthday sometime in December at this rate. Gah, what a slacker. My 23 readers must be so disappointed.

On the Move!

Late breaking news! My baby girl has officially taken her first steps! We had to patiently wait nearly 13 months but it was worth it! Look how cute she looks.

Yay Claire!

Claire is ONE!

My little cupcake turned one the other day! How exciting is that?

We had a party for her at our house a few weeks ago and we'll have another party tomorrow on the other side of the state. You have to be really special to have two birthday parties.

We went to the doc to get a little check-up and to get a couple of shots. The check-up was cool...the shots were not so cool.

Stats:
Weight: 21 pounds (between 25th and 50th percentile)
Height: 31 inches (95th percentile)

So that means that she has gained almost 12 pounds and grown 10 inches since she was born 12 short months ago.

Look at my sweet girl, just a few hours old...she had my heart from the moment I laid eyes on her. I can't believe she's been alive for a year. It's crazy how quickly time flies.

At 12 months Claire:

• Is the best baby ever.
• Gets from point A to point B by crawling...only slightly interested in walking. She has been started to walk around with her walker toys though so she's making progress.
• Started drinking a little bit of cow's milk. We still have about 120 ounces of breast milk in the freezer to go through.We have cut back to two nursing sessions per day...will phase that out at some point before her fifth birthday. :)
• Is talking more and more every day.
• "Talks" on the phone using any electronic device or anything resembling a telephone.
• Plays peek-a-boo, claps when you say "yay!" and high-fives.
• Can do a couple of baby signs
• Is super, super sweet.
• Loves her big sisters.
